New Lenox Police continue to investigate several cases of identity theft, as well as fraud and retail theft.

OFFENSE: Fraud
DATE/TIME REPORTED: 12/05/2017 3:30 p.m.
LOCATION: 1200 block of Towncrest Drive, New Lenox
SUMMARY: The officer was dispatched to the NLPD in reference to a Fraud. The complainant advised that unknown subject(s) were writing fraudulent checks on his bank account.

OFFENSE: Driving While License Suspended

SUMMARY: The officer was on patrol and observed a vehicle speeding. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and learned that the driver, Spencer, had a suspended driver’s license. Spencer posted bond and was released.

SUMMARY: The officer was dispatched to the Palmer Ranch Drive in reference to an Identity Theft report. The complainant advised that unknown subjects obtained their personal information, opened several fraudulent lines of credit, and made fraudulent purchases.

LOCATION: 511 E. Lincoln Highway, New Lenox
SUMMARY: The officer was dispatched to the Verizon Wireless Store in reference to a Retail Theft report. The complainant advised that unknown subjects cut the wire to display phone, stole the phone and fled the store.

CHARGES: Driving While License Suspended/Suspended Registration/Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle
SUMMARY: The officer was on patrol and conducted a random registration check on a vehicle in traffic. The officer learned that the registration on the vehicle was suspended and the registered owner, Chmielski, had a suspended driver’s license. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and confirmed the suspensions. Chmieleski posted bond and was released.

SUMMARY: The officer was running radar and observed a vehicle speeding. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and learned that the driver had a suspended driver’s license, no proof of insurance and was in possession of cannabis. Marsh posted bond and was released.

SUMMARY: The officer was dispatched to Oxford Court in reference to a Theft report. The complainant advised that they received notice that a package was delivered to their house. The complainant arrived home and the package was gone.

SUMMARY: The officer was dispatched to the Shop Mobile Store in reference to a Retail Theft report. The complainant advised that a subject stole two cell phones from the store and fled.

SUMMARY: The officer was dispatched to the NLPD in reference to an Identity Theft report. The complainant advised that unknown subject(s) obtained their personal information and opened a fraudulent account with Sprint.

OFFENSE: Warrant Arrest

SUMMARY: The officer was on patrol and conducted a random registration check on a vehicle in traffic. The officer learned that the owner of the vehicle had an active warrant for his arrest out of Will County. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and met with the registered owner, Grynevich. The officer confirmed the warrant. Grynevich was transported to the NLPD. Grynevich posted bond and was released.
